SastaDekho ("we", "our", "us") operates the SastaDekho mobile application and the website sastadekho.in. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information about you when you use our services.

By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Search queries entered in the App
• Location information (city, pincode, or approximate GPS coordinates) to show relevant local prices
• FCM device token (if you enable price alerts)

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• App usage data (screens viewed, features used) for analytics
• Crash reports and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics
• Session identifiers (anonymous, not linked to personal identity)
• IP address (used to determine approximate region, not stored long-term)

We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to use core features of the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide accurate, localised price comparisons based on your location
• Improve search results and the overall app experience
• Show trending searches relevant to your city
• Send price alert push notifications (only if you opt in)
• Diagnose and fix technical issues (crash reports)
• Analyse aggregate usage patterns to improve the App
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:

• Firebase (Google): Crash reporting (Crashlytics) and push notifications (FCM). Google's privacy policy applies.
• Google Cloud Platform: Our servers run on GCP in the Asia South 1 (Mumbai) region.
• Legal authorities: If required by law, court order, or government request.

Third-party grocery platforms (Blinkit, Zepto, etc.) are only accessed to fetch price data. We do not share your personal data with them.

5. Location Data

The App requests approximate location (or pincode) to show prices relevant to your delivery area. Location data is used only to fetch localised prices and is not stored persistently on our servers or linked to your identity.

You can enter a pincode manually if you prefer not to share your device location.

6. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary:

• Search queries: used transiently for price fetching; trending aggregates are stored anonymously
• Price alert configurations: stored until you delete the alert or uninstall the App
• Crash reports: retained for up to 90 days
• Anonymous analytics: retained in aggregate form for up to 12 months

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure server infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

As a user, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of price alert notifications at any time (via app settings or device notification settings)
